Another intense week on The Voice goes by and I’m still here. I hope you enjoyed my performance of Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. If you missed it you can watch it here.
Thank you so much to everyone who voted – it means so much that you guys are behind me.
The hardest part of this journey is the fact that we have to lose people from the show. This week Team Madden lost Peta Evans-Taylor, who apart from being hugely-talented is also a very cool lady. We also had to say goodbye to Amber, Gail and the awesome Rik-E-Ragga.
All of the contestants are good friends – it helps make the long periods of ‘down-time’ pass so much quicker as we all like to have a laugh. In particular I’d like to put a shout out to Scott Newnham (who went out last week) and Rik-E-Ragga – both have become great mates and I can’t thank Ragga enough for the massive plug he gave me in his exit speech on Sunday. He has done an amazing job of putting reggae onto mainstream Australian TV and long may it continue. I hope we can remain good friends after the show is done and dusted.
But, the show must go on and we are already well into planning and rehearsing for the next round of lives on Sunday.
I am hugely fortunate to be safe for this week but the pressure is building and everyone is bringing their A-game so I need your support more than ever.
Please don’t forget that this show is all about votes. The Voice app is a free download from the App Store or Google Play and and you get four free votes per week, per device. So, get the app on your phones and tablets and give all of your votes to your favourite artist!
Thanks again for all your kind words. You can keep up to date with me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and I’m looking forward to Sunday when I can play to you all again.
See you soon
Joe x
